Recent research has confirmed the effectiveness of acupuncture for cervical spondylosis, a type of arthritis caused by wear and tear of the discs in the cervical spine. As the spinal discs degenerate over time, osteoarthritis occurs and bony spurs form, causing pain and stiffness in the neck.

A minimum of 10 treatments was required for the optimum results of the studies.
