Warming Chicken & Cabbage Soup

This soup recipe was designed to help boost Kidney yang for patients with infertility. In Chinese medicine, Kidney yang relates to our adrenal health and hormones - mainly progesterone and testosterone. As we age, our adrenal and hormonal function begins to decline, and sometimes it happens at an earlier age due to excessive physical overwork, lack of sleep or genetic predisposition.

This tasty soup feels like a warm hug! It is perfect for for anyone experiencing adrenal fatigue, infertility, low hormones, achy back or knees, or cold symptoms. It is a great anti-aging soup too! You will want to put this recipe on rotation.

  • 1 lb organic ground chicken

  • 4 leeks (white parts only), chopped

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried rosemary

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp ginger paste

  • 1 TBSP ghee

  • 4 cups organic chicken bone broth, unsalted

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage

  • 1 cup organic frozen corn

Heat soup pot on medium-high heat and ghee. Once the ghee is melted, add leeks and garlic and stirfry for 2 minutes until leeks are slightly translucent. Add ground chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, basil, pepper, ginger paste, and salt. Cook until no longer pink. Add bone broth and cabbage. Turn heat to high and heat soup until it starts to boil. Once it comes to a boil, reduce to a simmer and let cook for 20 minutes. Stir in frozen corn, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
