Homemade Hummus

Why make hummus at home instead of buying store-bought? Glyphosate (the weed-killing chemical linked to cancer) has been found in 80% of hummus and chickpeas! This recipe is glyphosate-free and super quick and easy to make. Grab your favorite veggies like carrots, cucumber, cauliflower, bell peppers and green beans, and dip in for a healthy and delicious snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups chickpeas, rinsed & drained (Jovial Foods brand)

  • 2 TBSP pure extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup organic tahini

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 tsp himalyan or sea salt

  • 8 TBSP water

Directions:

In a high-speed blender or NutriBullet, add all the ingredients and blend well until smooth. Add more water in as needed if too thick. Top with fresh chopped parsley, a squeeze of lemon, and/or red pepper flakes.
